Ingredients:

  • 1 lb sushi-grade Ahi tuna, cut into ½-inch cubes
  • 1 large ripe avocado, cubed
  • 2 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp sriracha

Instructions:

  1. Ensure Ahi tuna is ice-cold. Slice the tuna into ¼-inch planks, then into ½-inch cubes. Place cubes into a chilled bowl and refrigerate while preparing the sauce.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sriracha until the honey is fully dissolved and the sauce is emulsified.
  3. Remove the tuna from the fridge. Pour the marinade over the fish and toss gently until evenly coated.
  4. Fold in the sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Gently fold in the cubed avocado last to maintain the shape of the cubes.
