Ingredients:

  • 1 lb frozen beef meatballs (pre-cooked)
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Let the frozen beef meatballs sit on the counter for about 10-15 minutes. Note: This prevents the sauce temperature from crashing when you add them.
  2. Pour the brown sugar, ketchup, bourbon, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and black pepper into a large non stick skillet.
  3. Turn the heat to medium and whisk everything together.
  4. Cook the mixture until you see large bubbles popping and it smells like toasted caramel.
  5. Lower the heat and simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce looks velvety and has reduced slightly.
  6. Gently fold in the meatballs, making sure they are all submerged in the glaze.
  7. Toss the meatballs constantly for 8-10 minutes.
  8. Continue cooking until the sauce transforms into a thick, sticky coating.
  9. Remove from heat once the meatballs are a deep mahogany brown.
  10. Serve immediately while the glaze is still tacky.
