Ingredients:
- 1 lb fresh broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 lemon
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions:
- Cut the broccoli into uniform, bite-sized florets. Wash the florets thoroughly and dry them completely using a salad spinner or by rolling them in a clean kitchen towel. Moisture is the enemy of crispiness.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the bone-dry broccoli florets with the olive oil, kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Ensure the oil coats every crevice of the florets to facilitate even browning.
- Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
- Place the seasoned broccoli in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not crowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary to allow for 360-degree air circulation.
- Air fry at 400°F for 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time to ensure even charring.
- Remove the broccoli from the air fryer. Immediately toss with freshly grated parmesan cheese, a squeeze of lemon juice, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes before serving.
