Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 (6 oz) Ahi tuna steaks
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil

Instructions:

  1. Pat the tuna steaks completely dry with paper towels to ensure a proper sear.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, honey, and garlic.
  3. Coat the tuna steaks in the marinade and let them sit for 10–15 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Preheat an outdoor grill or cast-iron grill pan to high heat until water droplets evaporate instantly upon contact.
  5. Brush the tuna steaks with avocado oil.
  6. Place steaks on the grill and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until edges are opaque and the center remains deep red.
  7. Remove from heat and let the steaks rest on a warm plate for 3 minutes before serving.
