Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 (6 oz) Ahi tuna steaks
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
Instructions:
- Pat the tuna steaks completely dry with paper towels to ensure a proper sear.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, honey, and garlic.
- Coat the tuna steaks in the marinade and let them sit for 10–15 minutes at room temperature.
- Preheat an outdoor grill or cast-iron grill pan to high heat until water droplets evaporate instantly upon contact.
- Brush the tuna steaks with avocado oil.
- Place steaks on the grill and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until edges are opaque and the center remains deep red.
- Remove from heat and let the steaks rest on a warm plate for 3 minutes before serving.
