Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil
  • 0.33 cup honey
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss chicken pieces until fully coated, shaking off excess flour.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and cook for 4-5 minutes until the bottom is deeply golden and rigid. Remove chicken and set aside.
  3. Flip the chicken and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the exterior is crackling. Remove chicken and set aside.
  4. Lower heat to medium. Sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds. Add honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Simmer for 1 minute until the mixture bubbles.
  5. Turn off heat. Whisk in cold butter cubes one by one until melted and creamy. Return chicken to the pan and toss for 1 minute to coat in the glaze. Serve immediately.
