  • 1/2 cup (60g) white onion, roughly chopped
  • 1 small (30g) jalapeño, seeded
  • 1/4 cup (15g) fresh cilantro, stems included
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1 clove (3g) garlic, peeled
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1g) ground cumin

Instructions:

  1. Place the chopped onion, jalapeño, garlic, and cilantro into the blender first to ensure aromatics are fully incorporated.
  2. Add the fire-roasted tomatoes, lime juice, salt, and cumin.
  3. Use the Pulse button in 1-second bursts until the mixture looks coarse and pebbled; avoid continuous blending to prevent it from becoming a puree.
  4. Taste the salsa and adjust by adding a pinch more salt for flavor or a squeeze of lime for additional brightness.
